What is the procedure like?
Step 1: A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and processed in the centrifuge. At this stage the patient has also applied topical numbing cream to the penis to help with the sting of the injection.
Step 2: After centrifuge, the blood has been separated into a PRP layer with the concentrated growth factors for injection and the blood products that will be discarded. An additive is combined to “activate” the platelets and release maximum concentrations of growth factors.
Step 3: The highly concentrated growth factors are injected into the penis in very specific locations by the medical professional.
How often do patients need a P-Shot®?
This answer varies from patient to patient as the number of treatments needed to achieve the greatest possible outcome may differ from person to person. For some it is a one-time injection, and others benefit from multiple injections. The results of P-shot can take up to 3 months to reach the full potential. If one session reaches a patients goals, then they can enjoy the benefits until they feel the need for a touch-up procedure. The P-shot is designed to have results that are long-lasting, but each patient is different. The frequency of injections and follow-up treatments is based on the patient goals and efficacy of the initial injection.
What is the recovery like?
Because the P-shot is a non-surgical technique, there is no recovery time. There may be some tenderness and bruising, but there is no activity restriction or need for post treatment care.
